Clara lamp by Flos repair / cable relief

The Clara lamp by Flos has a design flaw regarding the power cable connector. It breaks off very easily. One way to repair it is to solder the power cable directly onto the circuit board. But don't forget to add a cable relief.

When I bought the Clara Ceiling Lamp I got warned, that it's kind of tricky to install it. It would "break" easily when connecting the wires. Never would I have imagined, that you basically can't connect the lamp without the socket breaking off. (Especially for a lamp in this price segment.) I'd call this a design flaw.

For being able to install the lamp I not only soldered flexible stranded wires directly to the circuit board but also designed and 3D printed a cable relief.

You can download a .stl file here to 3D print the cable relief yourself. It's designed for a 2 x 0,75 mm² flat cable.

To mount the cable relief, simply remove the screw the cable points to and fix the cable relief with a longer screw.

Unlike on the pictures, the stranded wires cable should be longer (about 30 cm). You can then connect the wire of the lamp with a clamp to the cable coming from your ceiling. Don't forget, LEDs have polarity.
